Southern Ocean County Hospital Appoints
Executive Director of the SOCH Foundation

Southern Ocean County Hospital has appointed Chris Rollins, a seasoned professional with an impressive career in fund raising, as Executive Director of the SOCH Foundation, announced Joseph P. Coyle, President and CEO of SOCH.

Mr. Rollins began his career in healthcare philanthropy as a fundraising volunteer board member at Frederick Memorial Hospital in his hometown of Frederick, Maryland, an experience he describes as extraordinary.

“ My responsibilities as a volunteer took me out of the board room and into the community where I met so many people who lent their time, talent and financial support to the success of the hospital!” recounts Mr. Rollins, a former public relations and advertising executive. “The same holds true for the residents of southern Ocean County. I am excited to be here at SOCH and have an opportunity to advance the efforts of our outstanding donors and volunteers, to build on the exciting success of the SOCH Foundation, and to engage the community in SOCH’s vision for the future.”

Indeed, that vision is fast becoming reality, as the Hospital plans to unveil a new, 32-bed inpatient unit in 2007. In addition, the SOCH Health Village, which will house an outpatient radiology center called Health Village Imaging; outpatient dialysis and physician offices, will open later this year.

Chris’s experience includes a four-year tenure as Executive Director of the Southern Regional Medical Center Foundation in Atlanta, Georgia, and five years with the West Jersey Health & Hospital Foundation (now Virtua Health), serving in the same capacity. More recently, he served as Executive Vice President of Pride Philanthropy, where he delivered consulting fundraising services to hospitals across the southeastern United States. A member of the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy and the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Chris is also Past President of the Georgia Association of Development Professionals, a former faculty member of Atlanta’s Nonprofit Resource Center, and has served on numerous charitable boards. He has a BA from Hood College, and MBA from Frostburg State University and has earned the Certificate Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) credential.

The SOCH Foundation is a not-for-profit organization supporting the charitable mission of the Southern Ocean County Hospital through the financial support from the community.
